Arthur A. "Tooter" Martinez, 82, of Walsenburg, went to heaven on July 28, 2017. Art was born on June 8, 1935 to the late Alex and Pina Martinez. Also waiting for their brother i heaven are his brothers, Manuel, Daniel, Harold and sister, Eileen. Left here to miss him are his brothers and sisters, Ralph and Patricia Martinez, Denver, CO., Marlene and Gary Turner, Walsenburg, CO., and Della Martinez, Colorado Springs, CO. He was loved by all of his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In his younger day, he worked for the Rodger brothers in Walsenburg, herding cattle and working on the ranch. Art worked for several years at the Sheltered Workshop, receiving an employee of the year plaque. Through the years he received several gold medals in the Special Olympics. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Boies-Ortega Memorial Chapel, 115 E. 5th. St., Walsenburg, CO. Interment, North St. Mary Cemetery, Walsenburg, CO.
