Obituary for Tranquillino Edward "Frank" Sandoval

Tranquillino Edward "Frank" Sandoval, 70 of Walsenburg died February 27, 2018 in Pueblo, Colorado. Frank was born on July 5, 1947 in Walsenburg, to Theodore A. and Alice M. Lopez Sandoval. He graduated from Huerfano County High in 1966 and was a career Veteran of the US Army from 1966 to 1986 serving in Texas, Louisiana, Vietnam, Colorado, Hawii and South Korea, receiving a Bronze Star, an Army Commendation Medal with Bronze Oakleaf Cluster, an Army Achievement Medal, A Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4-Stars, an NCO Professional Development Ribbon, a Vietnam Army Ribbon, and a Korean Overseas Service Ribbon, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, and Army Combat Infantry Badge, an Expert Rifle Badge M-16 and an Expert Mortar Badge. After his extended Army Career, Frank retired back home in Walsenburg. Frank was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a Pool Club, Car Club, and Natural High Car Club. He loved cruzing and showing his cars, playing pool and mostly spending time with his grandchildren.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Theodore A. Sandoval, mother and father-in-law, Lena and James Britt. He is survived by his wife, Kirsten Sandoval, mother, Alice Sandoval, daughter, Ranee Sandoval, 2 step sons, Andrew and Angelo Quintero, 5 grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Nevaeh, Manolo and Noah Quintero, siblings, Elaine Borrego, Lillian (Leo) Medina, Larry (Sherri) Sandoval, Randy (Susan) Sandoval, Carol (Luis) Pacheco, Ted, Jr. (Robin) Sandoval, Robert Sandoval and Christine Sandoval, numerous nieces and nephews. Services from St. Mary Catholic Church, Wednesday, March 7, 2018, Rosary, 10:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Military Ritual by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. Cremation to follow.
