Lavelle Mapes went to her home and Glory on June 29th, 2018 after a brief illness.
She was born January 5, 1930 in Flagg, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mapes, son Joe Mapes, parents Elzie and Sarena Teague, daughter-in-law Marcia Mapes, three sisters, and a brother.
She is survived by sons, Larry Mapes (June) of Walsenburg, and Jim Mapes (Jan) of Kim, Colorado,
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jessica Turner (Jake), Sarena Mapes, Jason Mapes (Taliah), Mandie Hill (Clint); and four great-grandchildren, Tayla, Tagg, Brittney, and Weston.
Services were Saturday, July 7, 2018 10:00 am at the United Methodist Church, Walsenburg, Colorado. Burial followed, La Veta Cemetery.
